First Bike On Scene

Myself and Helen have been to Preston today and have completed the First Bike On Scene course. Basically a first aid course for bikers to help out other bikers they may come across.

Who is the course for?
Recommended for anyone who rides a motorcycle, or wishes to administer first aid or manage the initial scene of a road traffic incident. The First Bike on Scene™course has been specifically designed to provide the knowledge and skills needed to deal with the initial management of a patient involved in a road traffic accident. Bikers are encouraged to give casualties necessary basic life support in the event of an accident whilst waiting for emergency services to arrive.

Aysgarth - Easter Monday Rideout

Hawes I led my first ride out today to Aysgarth, via Settle, Hawes and back through Kettlewell. I think I have found my ideal road, Ribblehead Viaduct to Hawes. It was very cool and it snowed but we made it all the way round and had a good run on some really good roads.

Ride out to Hartside Cafe

Devil's BridgeWent on a ride out up to Hartside Cafe today with NUKB led by Muddyxr. The Viffer performed really well and my riding has improved so much more. It really helps following experienced riders, helps educate you about the correct lines  to take. I would recommended to any new riders finding a similar type of site and get yourself out there.

Started out from Tickled Trout in Preston and quickly made our way to Devil's, the Police where in attendance offering free cups of tea. (You were forced to have your bike inspected for the pleasure though).

Then from there back down to Devil's through Alston and Middleton-in-Tessdale, there are some great roads up in them dales.

New Bike

Just picked up my new Viffer, had a bit of a moment outside the dealers as I tried to get it off the centre stand, yes I almost dropped it.

Honda VFR 800 Vtec

Came back on the motorway to get used to it a bit, didn't really have a problem and the sound is about as near to a V8 that a bike can get.

I am not sad to see the Kawasaki go, it has served its purpose. I am glad that I got it first though before the Viffer it has made me much more confident.

Test Ride

After much thought I have had a test ride of a new Honda VFR800 VTEC bike this afternoon. Wow what a fantastic bike, had no problems with it at all and loved every minute of it.

It didn't take me long after the test ride to decide that I wanted one, the offer of the free luggage (worth £1000) was just too hard to resist. Managed to get a deal I was happy with and signed on the dotted line. Should be picking it up next Saturday, can't wait.
