Tour Imminent

Helen and I set out on Friday evening for our annual tour to Europe. This year we are heading to Kranjska Gora in Solvenia. It is located in the Julian Alps close to the Italian and Austrian borders. This year rather than travelling down south to catch the Channel Tunnel we have opted for the closer to home Hull to Zeebrugge Ferry. This will enable us to arrive on Saturday morning in Belgium and then give us a whole days riding.

From the Zeebrugge we travel through Belgium and Luxembourg to our first night in Trier in Germany. From here we travel to Seebach which is just south of Baden Baden on the B500. We then head through the Black Forest to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. From here we head into the Austrian Tyrol Mountains and over the infamous Grossglockner High Alpine Road to Lienz. We then snake over a few smaller passes between Austria and Italy before arriving in Slovenia, where we are staying for 6 nights.

We leave Slovenia heading west into Italy and heading for Bolzano along the Great Dolomite Road. From Bolzano we head into the Italian Alps and then into the Swiss Alps to Chur. We then head further into Switzerland and over Furka and Grimsel Passes and then head back into France and stop in Cernay near to Mulhouse. We then head into the Vosges and over the Grand Ballon and then follow the Route des Crêtes part of the way to Charleville-Mézières. We then head into Belgium and back to Zeebrugge for the ferry to Hull.
