Early run to Hawes

Although the weather has been nice on occasion we haven’t been out on the bikes at all. This is mainly due to me building a goathouse over April and us recently getting two pygmy goats, Branston & Pickle. Helen has also had an ankle operation so she is completely out of the picture for riding at this time.

The weather was nice on Monday so I got up early and headed out on the BMW for a quick run up to Hawes and back. I took the usual route to Clitheroe and then via Sawley and Wigglesworth to Settle. Then I headed over to Hawes via Ribblehead Viaduct. One corner between Horton-in-Ribblesdale and the viaduct is completely chewed up, fortunately it is an open corner so you can avoid it by using the wrong side of the road.

I stopped briefly in Hawes at the Penny Garth Café for a coffee and a blueberry muffin. I then headed back home the same way as I had come before the roads got really busy. I was back home for 12:00pm after a nice quiet run. I am defiantly getting more used to riding the K1300s now, it seems to respond better to cornering if you lean off the bike slightly.

Go on, show us the pygmy goats-surely a first for a motorbike travel blog!

I have edited the post above, follow the Branston & Pickle link. They have their own website and a live webcam.
