Helen’s New Boots

Helen has been concerned about her current boots since having her ankle operation in April. Due to them only having one zip and requiring to be pulled on and off. She believed that she might aggravate her ankle taking them off whilst we are touring at the end of June.

With this in mind she decided to get another pair of boots. She went down to Hein Gericke to have a look, we go there a lot as they have always looked after us throughout the years. In the end she chose a pair of Daytona Road Star GTX boats. She mainly opted for these because they have two zips and are waterproof. They also have a non slip sole which is a minor bugbear about her current Alpine Stars boots. This I can testify to after almost breaking my ankle in 2011 slipping at a castle ruin, when we were touring around the Scottish Highlands.
